1. Information Technology Officer

Responsibilities

  • Configure and manage servers, including installation, virtualization, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This includes monitoring server performance and capacity, conducting routine server maintenance tasks such as applying software updates and patches, and ensuring that all servers are backed up regularly.
  • Oversee various information management systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning properly. This includes managing the organization’s database systems, ensuring that they are secure and reliable, and that they meet the needs of the organization’s staff and stakeholders. These include the various trading systems such as the OMS systems, CSD system, Exchange systems, Agency systems among many others.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the organization’s data. This includes developing policies for data backup and recovery, data retention, and data access control, as well as ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with new developments in IT and make recommendations for improvements and upgrades. This includes researching new technologies and tools, evaluating their potential impact on the organization, and making recommendations for investments in new IT infrastructure and systems.

  • Manage and maintain the organization’s network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN,VPN, and wireless networks. This includes designing and implementing network security protocols and disaster recovery plans, and ensuring that the network operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Serve as the technical lead for the development of various IT systems/products, working closely with other departments and stakeholders. This includes leading the design and development of new systems and applications, providing guidance to development teams, and ensuring that all IT projects are delivered on time.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to staff members as needed. This includes responding to help desk tickets and resolving technical issues, providing training and guidance on IT systems and applications, and ensuring that all staff members have the necessary tools and resources to perform their job duties.
 

Qualifications and Skills

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from any accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or any other related field is a Requirement.
  • Diploma or Certification in Networking, Cloud Computing, Software development, Data science or any other relevant IT field is an Added Advantage.

  • Server Administration i.e. VMware
  • Networking i.e. Cisco networking

  • Database Management i.e. Postgres, SQL, MySQL
  • IT security
  • Good communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
